About

Our origin story.

Etymology.

Where does a name like More Than Machines come from? In 2021, Andrew Skinner founded More Than Machines in response to the growing demand for and opportunity within agriculture to gain value from data. We recognised that while the growth of technology and automation into the field was astounding, the presence of human knowledge, insight and interaction was crucial.

We anticipated the need for software and services designed for humans, not replacing them but giving them the super powers offered by responsibly using the latest digital technology.

When we started we were designing and deploying data pipelines, platforms, visualisations and machine learning models into our customers businesses and now the landscape has evolved with the emergence of generative AI and responsible AI.

Working with our customers to take advantage of these new models, tools and services, the ethos of More Than Machines remains as relevant today as ever.

Community driven.

We are deeply involved in the Australian AgriFood community. We provide advisory services across the Australian Research Development Corporations, support industry and community groups, and serve on the organising committee for the NSW Agtech Meetup. Additionally, we mentor startups and offer strategic support to organisations within the AgriFood innovation ecosystem.

We also contribute regularly to the open source agritech ecosystem.

We love coffee.

We're always keen to chat data, technology, design, and AI. Drop us a message and let us know what you are working on.
